Esperanza is a gated 55+ community in Ontario Ranch, built by Lennar starting in 2019. Every home is a single-story detached house, from about 1,381 to 2,135 square feet with two or three bedrooms. Because the community is newer, you get open floor plans and modern kitchens without the remodeling that older 55+ communities often need.
Esperanza has 465 homes, each with 2 to 3 bathrooms and an attached two-car garage. They were designed with older buyers in mind: wider hallways and doorways, extra lighting, and curbless showers that are easy to step into. Some of the larger floor plans include Lennar's NextGen Suite, a private living space that works well for a visiting family member or a live-in caregiver.
New construction has sold out, so every home for sale now is a resale. Homes typically sell from the high $600,000s to the mid $800,000s, and HOA dues run about $245 a month.

Life at Esperanza centers on the La Jolla Club, a 9,000-square-foot clubhouse with a full-service bar, catering kitchen, fitness center, craft area, game tables and wine lockers.
Outside, you'll find a resort-style pool and spa, cabanas, an outdoor kitchen, fire pits, pickleball and bocce courts, a dog park and a community garden.
Esperanza also has a full-time lifestyle director on site, so someone is actually planning the events calendar instead of leaving it all to volunteers.
Esperanza sits in Ontario Ranch, the newer master-planned part of Ontario, just minutes from the I-15 and the 60. Ontario International Airport is close by, a much easier trip than LAX or John Wayne. Ontario Mills and Victoria Gardens are nearby for shopping, with plenty of restaurants in Ontario, Eastvale and Rancho Cucamonga.
The biggest advantage is the drive. If you're heading into Los Angeles or Orange County to see family, friends or doctors, the trip from Esperanza is noticeably easier than from Corona, especially at rush hour.
Pros
Cons
Esperanza is a great fit if you want the full 55+ lifestyle (amenities, low-maintenance living and a built-in social calendar) but need to stay closer to Los Angeles or Orange County. That's something Terramor and Trilogy at Glen Ivy simply can't offer.
If a bigger lot, views or a larger floor plan are at the top of your list, Terramor or Trilogy may suit you better. I'm happy to show you all three so you can compare them in person.

In Ontario Ranch, in the southeast part of Ontario, minutes from the I-15, the 60 and Ontario International Airport.
About $245 a month.
Lennar, starting in 2019. All new construction has sold out, so homes for sale today are resales.
The amenities are similar to Terramor's, but on a smaller footprint with smaller lots and no golf course or views. The tradeoff is location: Esperanza is much closer to LA, Orange County and the airport.
